Losing weight is an everyday battle for most adults in the Western World, but still, there are some people whose metabolism is so efficient that in order to maintain a healthy weight they need to gain a few pounds every once in a while.
If you are one of those lucky few, you will find some interesting tips in this article.
When trying to gain weight, the first question you should ask yourself is: what is my desired weight?
That is why you must calculate the number of calories you consume each day, keep track of your diet for a full week, and check the calorie books or look at the nutritional information regularly printed on food packages. This information will give you an average of the amount of calories you need to achieve your goal.
For example, to gain about two pounds per week, you must consume 7,000 calories more than the recommended amount, which is about 1,000 calories every day. If you want to gain about two pounds, try to consume 1,500 calories per day until you hit the desired weight.
A healthy diet to gain weight consists of four to six meals a day. The idea is that in these portions you can find a large “dose” of calories. If you are hungry between meals, grab a fruit or snack. Chew slowly and try not to miss the dessert.
If adding calories to your regular diet, does not work for you when it comes to gain weight, you can always talk to your doctor or nutritionist to find an alternate method, and never consume sugar in excess just for the fun of it when trying to gain weight.
