You have probably heard many times about the importance of consuming fish as part of a healthy and nutritious diet.
Here are even more reasons to eat fish, at least twice times a week:
1-) Fish is high in many important nutrients, including high-quality protein, iodine and various vitamins and minerals. Fatty types of fish are also high in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D.
2-) Fatty fish (like salmon, trout, sardines, tuna, and mackerel) are higher in fat-based nutrients.
3-) Eating at least one serving of fish per week has been linked to reduced risk of heart attacks and strokes, two of the world’s biggest killers.
4-) Fish consumption is linked to reducing the decline in brain function as we age. People who eat fish regularly also have more grey matter in the areas of the brain that control memory and emotion.
5-) Omega-3 fatty acids are proven to be more effective against depression, both on their own and when taken with antidepressant medications.
6-) Eating fish has been linked to reduced risk of type 1 diabetes and other types of autoimmune diseases, that happens when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissues.
7-) Some studies show that children who eat more fish have a lower risk of developing asthma.
😎 People who eat more fish have a much lower risk of developing macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision impairment and blindness.
